Faculty Position in Data Science at the Johns Hopkins Mathematical Institute for Data Science (MINDS)

The Johns Hopkins Mathematical Institute for Data Science (MINDS) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate is expected to conduct fundamental research in the mathematical, statistical and computational foundations of machine learning.

Outstanding candidates at all academic ranks will be considered. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields, and will be expected to establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research program. Postdoctoral Positions, Center for Imaging Science, The Johns Hopkins University

The Vision Dynamics and Learning Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University has two immediate post-doc openings in computer vision and machine learning with applications to biomedicine. In particular, we are looking for highly talented individuals to develop advanced computer vision and machine learning algorithms for cell classification and counting. The project will involve collaboration with a large team with varied expertise in microscopic imaging, microbfuildics, chemistry, public health and medicine. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in a relevant quantitative field (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Math and Statistics), a strong publication record in computer vision, machine learning, and biomedical image analysis. Remuneration is competitive and commensurate with skills and track record. The appointment will be for one year initially (renewable) starting November 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter. Postdoctoral researcher or research scientist

The Center for Imaging Science (Dr. Siamak Ardekani) at the Johns Hopkins University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher or research scientist to apply in vivo and ex vivo MR imaging in preclinical study of cardiovascular disease.

The successful candidate must be highly motivated and have a university degree (Ph.D. for postdoctoral fellow) in physical science, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields. The candidate will be involved in a multi-modality cardiac MR imaging of murine model to investigate heart failure. The candidate should have knowledge of preclinical MRI (ideally in Bruker environment). Prior knowledge of pulse sequence programming is a plus. Experience with ex vivo characterization of tissue using MRI is desirable. Responsibilities include acquisition of image data on mice, optimizing MR acquisition and reconstruction techniques, and contributions to publications and grants.

This research activity utilizes high-field preclinical MR resources available at F.M. Kirby Research center (http://mri.kennedykrieger.org/preclinical/facilities.html) and/or Johns Hopkins University (http://www.mri.jhu.edu/div_mri_res/facilities.htm).
